Last month we were selected as one of the top 10 finalists for the Africa’s Business Heroes 2022 out of 21 000 applicants across Africa. What an honour!
These ABH 2022 Top 20 finalists were selected from among the Top 50 finalists based on their passion for establishing sustainable and impactful enterprises in their communities and beyond; businesses that are anchored on several SDG goals.

Our Founder, Shona McDonald attended the exciting final which was held in Johannesburg on the 19th of November. She has this to say about the whole experience:
“Reaching the top ten position in Jack Ma’s African Business Hero competition was a remarkable experience – it was the biggest and most testing business competition that ShonaquipSE has ever taken part in. It was packed with learning opportunities and provided exciting exposure to so many other passionate, innovative entrepreneurs who not only believe in addressing the needs of our continent but are taking responsibility for being the change their communities want and need to see.
We are truly honoured to be included in the Top Ten out of over 21000 companies who applied and the prize money could not have come at a better time for us as we move into our awesome huge new premises and expand our training, support services and gold standard ISO13485 certified products to many more countries in Africa and the North.”
