A World Designed for Everyone: ShonaquipSE Impact Report 2024/25
It is with great pride that we share our latest Annual Impact Report: a reflection of a year defined by commitment, resilience and our unwavering belief that the world should be designed for everyone.
Across South Africa and beyond, too many children and adults with disabilities still face daily barriers in education, healthcare, employment and community life. This year’s report highlights how Shonaquip Social Enterprise continues to dismantle these barriers through inclusive design, locally rooted innovation and an ecosystemic approach that strengthens families, educators, communities and systems.
Despite a challenging financial year marked by uncertainty and shifting opportunities, our purpose remained constant, and our impact remained strong. We reached tens of thousands through disability awareness programmes, inclusive play and learning initiatives, posture and mobility support, parent-led networks, and systems-level advocacy. We also continued to uphold excellence through ISO-certified products, evidence-based training, multidisciplinary teams and rigorous quality assurance.
This year’s stories capture what inclusion looks like in practice: families experiencing dignity and stability, children accessing the right mobility devices, parents finding community, and professionals gaining the confidence to support meaningful participation. Each number, milestone and narrative in this report echoes one simple message: when inclusion is intentional, lives change.
As you explore the report, we invite you to reflect on what it means to design a world where no one is left behind. Together—with our partners, supporters, and the communities we serve—we are building a future where every person can learn, play, move, work and thrive.
“Accessibility allows us to tap into everyone’s potential.”
