The conversation explores the journey of ShonaquipSE, from the development of its first posture-support wheelchair to becoming Africa’s only ISO 13485–certified wheelchair design and manufacturing facility, and the role of engineering innovation in creating mobility solutions that are both accessible and suited for African contexts.

Together, they discuss the importance of local manufacturing, innovation in assistive technologies, and the value of partnerships with the North-West University / Noordwes-Universiteit Faculty of Engineering in supporting initiatives that improve mobility and independence for people with disabilities.
